20 Best Batman TV Episodes Ever

7. 'Beware The Gray Ghost' (Batman: The Animated Series)

The late, great Adam West played a huge role in turning Batman into the pop-culture icon that he is today and while any of his colourful adventures would prove that point, perhaps the best example of showcasing how much he meant to Bat-fans comes from a different Batman adaptation.

'Beware The Gray Ghost' takes place early on Batman: The Animated Series' game-changing run, and it's one of the show's many personal offerings, as it highlights Bruce's adoration for the TV superhero he grew up watching: Simon Trent a.k.a. The Gray Ghost.

Trent is, of course, voiced by Adam West in an episode that leans into some of the show's best noir elements. However, it also provided viewers with one of its best-written narratives because, at the end of the day, so much of the Gray Ghost's backstory was reminiscent to that of the legendary West.

An adventure that closed with our '90s Dark Knight informing Trent just know how much he meant to him growing up, it reflected how so many of us felt (and still feel) about Adam West.

And that is the ultimate tribute to the classic Batman.
