20 Best Superhero TV Show Performances Ever
8. Charlie Cox As Matt Murdoch/Daredevil
Some character reboots find themselves with incredibly big shoes to fill, making the task something close to impossible. Darevdevil however, did not. Ben Affleck's stint as the character is not looked back on fondly by anyone, and while this allowed Charlie Cox less pressure than he may have been under, it does highlight the complete gulf in quality of the two portrayals.
When portraying this particular character there are two very different sides to get right. The ruthless, ass-kicking vigilante, and the mild-mannered, religious lawyer, both while pretending to be blind. Charlie Cox truly brought both Daredevil and Matt Murdoch to life like never before.
Despite not fitting the usual light hearted tone of Marvel Studios' movies, Charlie Cox found a balance between dark and gritty, and the very occasional humour that sets him apart from the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Similarly to Arrow in the world of DC, Daredevil launched the Netflix corner of the MCU, and became the mini universe's flagship show. If Charlie Cox hadn't impressed as much as he had, it's hard to imagine any of the other Netflix shows being greenlit and becoming ultimately as successful as they did.
