Some characters you just never known how they'll translate from the page to the screen. Daredevil and Spider-Man villain, Kingpin, ought to have been a struggle, since in the source material he is usually depicted to be about ten feet tall and eight feet wide. Somehow though, this iteration worked incredibly well.

This comes down to Vincent D'Onofrio's chilling performance as the man known as Wilson Fisk. Again, as with David Tennant's Kilgrave, we are made to wait to see the villain of the series, and D'Onofrio is no disappointment.

Clearly an intelligent, tasteful man, with pride in his work and his business, there is an underlying anger bubbling away inside. This is ever present throughout every episode the character appears in, and it is a testament to the actor's performance that it seems to be instilled almost effortlessly.

As physically dominant as the man can be, he is even more feared thanks to his words and general presence in a room. He doesn't need to swing any fists to be intimidating, but when he does, there is a terrifying intensity that is genuinely quite jarring.
