20 Best Superhero TV Show Performances Ever

18. Matt Ryan As John Constantine

Daredevil Kingpin Vincent DOnofrio
The CW

After Keanu Reeves' version of Constantine in 2005 left a lot to be desired, Matt Ryan was given the chance to reinvent the character in 2014 with a series of the same name. Instead of just one movie to explore the depths of John Constantine, and the lore behind him, Ryan was given an entire series.

Though the Welsh actor's performance deserved more than just 13 episodes, thankfully the character was brought back for more in a cameo in Arrow, a recurring role in Legends of Tomorrow, and an appearance in DC's mega crossover, Crisis on Infinite Earths.

Striking a tough balance between being a somewhat arrogant anti-hero, and a genuinely likeable protagonist, Ryan lends John Constantine not only the appearance pulled straight from the comics, but every personality trait that goes into making the character as complex and strangely endearing as he should be.
