6. Malcolm Tucker - The Thick Of It

Before Peter Capaldi was the mysterious Doctor, he was one of the most foul mouthed politicians ever put on screen. Running for four seasons over seven years, The Thick Of It received huge praise from critics and won multiple BAFTA's.

In spite of its brilliant reviews, it never really attained notable ratings until the last season, thanks in part to switching to a more mainstream channel. Thankfully for the show, it has had great success on streaming sites and remains hugely popular five years after its conclusion.

The show centers around the Department of Social Affairs and Citizenship, which acts as a "super department" that deals with all kinds of different issues. This gave the show all kinds of different material to work with, while still maintaining the realistic aspects of government work.

The department is overseen by Malcolm Tucker, who is charged with ensuring the staff stick to the policies of the governing party while also acting as a PR spin doctor when things go wrong. Unsurprisingly, the role causes a lot of stress to Tucker and that causes him to launch into epic verbal tirades.

It may be a crude form of humour, but sometimes there's not much better than to sit back and watch a man at the end of his tether just stand and yell profanities.
