Love him, hate him, or just find him incredibly frustrating with moments of genius, there's no denying that Steven Moffat leaving Doctor Who represents the end of a major era for the show.

Having taken over from Russell T. Davies for Series 5 onwards, he's overseen five seasons, two great Doctors, and a couple of stellar companions. Series 10 will be his last, so how will he go out?

He still has Peter Capaldi in the TARDIS, which is a good start, given the quality of Series 9. This time, though, he's joined by newcomer Pearl Mackie, while Matt Lucas' Nardole will recur throughout.

The early glimpse of Capaldi and Mackie's dynamic wasn't encouraging, but hopefully they've ironed out the kinks by the time it makes it to air. With it being Moffat's last, there's scope to bring back lots of old favourites, answer some big questions, and really go out on a high, but just as much risk of it becoming a convoluted, self-congratulatory mess. Which will it be?
