What it's about: It's been a while since we've had a reality game show to get excited about. Big Brother has long since gone off the boil since changing channels, and the formula of Survivor has become a bit tired after all these years - but it looks like our prayers have been answered in the form of Utopia. Not literal prayers, you understand. We reserve those for important things. Like ensuring Community gets the #sixseasonsandamovie it so richly deserves. Nowt to do with the great British sci-fi show (or the forthcoming HBO adaptation), Fox's Utopia sticks a load of strangers in the wilderness and tasks them with building an idealised society. They'll probably just argue and hook up, though. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e3fu7j02Mks Why it looks good: Not that we're tired of people arguing and hooking up. The voyeur in us is still strong, we're just a bit bored of it happening in a house off the A1. The post-apocalyptic, Into The Wild-ish premise sounds like it's guaranteed to make for some fresh new twists on the usual reality show drama, like The Walking Dead but with actual arguments (and probably just as many zombies, to be honest). Plus the nitty gritty of the task at hand appeals to our nerdier side; seeing people build houses, draft laws and generally put together a self-sustaining society sounds kind of amazing. Although a year's worth of episodes is a pretty big commitment...
