6. It Was Originally Going To Be Set In L.A.

Speaking of humble beginnings, have you ever seen the pilot that Day, Howerton and McElhenney shot for Sunny? While retaining a lot of the humour and even the storylines of future episodes there were nevertheless some major differences. For one thing, the guys didn't own and run their own bar but were actually struggling actors. Most jarringly of all, however, is the fact that the pilot was set in Los Angeles and not Philadelphia. The pilot (called It's Always Sunny On TV) was shopped around to different networks before being picked up by FX.
