8. Those Are Norman Reedus's Real Tattoos

Those angel and demon tattoos Daryl has, revealed in one episode by his racist redneck brother Merle, seemed like some particularly ham-fisted symbolism for the show. Oh, okay, so they represent the fact that Daryl is frequently struggling with his criminal past and being more of a heroic figure now! Totally not on The Walking Dead's writers for once, though. Those tattoos weren't created for the production but are actor Norman Reedus's own, and are just the tip of the iceberg. He actually has a bunch of them, saying that he prefers to carry his demons with him. As if the characters weren't close enough as it is, Reedus has also stated an appreciation for his character's crossbow, taking it off set and home with him on the regular.
