6. The Original Opening Was Totally Different

Steve wasn't the only thing from the original pilot that changed before the show finally aired. The original opening was more simplistic, featuring the name of the show fade into the flag outside the Smith house, with Frank Sinatra's You're A Lucky Fellow, Mr. Smith playing over.

It's incredibly different to the finished version, but does give across the same sort of feel, particularly in reference to the early days - it's very sitcom-y. It may have been a placeholder, but as the song repeats throughout the episode this suggests that at one point MacFarlane and co. were planning to have it play a part in the show.
