Even though Brandon Routh had a go at playing Superman in Bryan Singer's bizarre Superman Returns - which kept the good parts of the Christopher Reeve franchise but ditched the poor parts - the actor will soon be appearing as The Atom. His character, Ray Palmer recently revealed his A.T.O.M exoskeleton, which presumably empowers the CEO to shrink down and fight crime as DC's tiny crime fighter. The hologram of his costume's blueprints match those of his comic book counterpart, and recent tweets showed him having a mould of his face made so that he could have a mask fitted. It looks like pretty soon DC will give audiences their first glimpse of the shrunken hero. With Marvel releasing Ant-Man next year a character with very similar abilities it seems like DC might be trying to get ahead of its competition by debuting their character before Paul Rudd makes his Marvel debut next July.
