20 Mind-Blowing Facts You Never Knew About Arrow

16. It Is Full Of References To Other Places

Way back in Arrow's first series - before anyone had thought of making an entire series based on The Flash - Moira Queen made an off handed comment to her son, telling him that she had to go to Central City and that she would be €˜back in a flash.€™ This little reference to the scarlet speedster is only a hint of the many other places that have been alluded to in the show's many episodes. Keystone City, where the third Flash lives, has been referenced in news reports, and during the hunt for Deadshot it was mentioned that he had been spotted in Bludhaven. This is the fictional city where Dick Grayson goes to fight crime after taking on the title of Nightwing. Even Green Lantern's home Coast City has been heard in the program. These little references excite fans and go totally over the heads of average viewers, making it a certain win for the studio behind the program. Certain areas of the DC landscape are off limits due to the heroes who traditionally inhabit them, like Metropolis and Gotham, but for the most part the studio has free reign of the DC universe - which means we could well see some of these references come to life in future episodes.
