20 Mind-Blowing Facts You Never Knew About Lost

11. The Producers Lied About A Hidden Clue

ABC

The Pilot set up many elements that would become essential in the show over time; the monster, the difference of light and dark, and the fight between science and faith. But in a move that first excited, then frustrated fans, the writers flat out lied to everyone and said there was another hidden clue in the first episode that, at the time, hadn't been discovered.

In the warped world of spoilers, where you simultaneously do and don€™'t want to know what will happen, serious fans immediately set out to find out what they were missing; many jumped on a special effects goof at the plane crash where a poorly composited piece of wreckage looked like a swooping smoke monster.

In the end, there was no hidden clue. Many people forgot about it, so if you missed the confession, the writer€™s had been lying. And not for the last time.
