20 Mind-Blowing Facts You Never Knew About The Simpsons

17. Homer Was Almost Krusty

Krusty

Ever wondered why Homer made such a good looking Krusty in the episode Homer The Clown? The designs of the two characters are so close because that was originally going to be a defining part of Krusty€™s character.

Krusty€™s similar look to Homer was meant to be a key element of Bart; he doesn€™t respect his father at all, but idolises someone who looks just like him. Very little of this appears in the final show, but in the planning stages it went one step further, with writers suggesting a later twist could be that Homer was his son€™s idol all along.

Dismissed because it was way too complicated for the show in its infancy, it€™s one of the most interesting character origins.
