20 Mind-Blowing Facts You Never Knew About True Detective

4. A Convincing Fan Theory Suggests Hart€™s Daughter Was One Of The Victims

€œI can taste the psychosphere€. Among the many dark and demented things Rust Cohle says in True Detective, one of the most noteworthy ideas that he puts forward is the idea that the area of Louisiana that he and Hart are investigating has its own kind of mentality, just floating in the atmosphere. It could explain why Hart€™s eldest daughter, Audrey, is so knowledgeable about sex from a young age, but another theory, put forward by fans of the show, suggests something more sinister is behind Audrey€™s particular fascination. In 1995 and merely a child, Audrey draws explicit sketches and places her dolls in suggestive positions; in 2002, while still underage, she sleeps with a couple of older guys; in 2012, Audrey€™s on "meds". The suggestion by some fans is not that Audrey has just picked up on the general atmosphere of that toxic environment, but that she was one of the young girls abused by the cult of the Yellow King.
