14. 3 Body Problem
Much as Game of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and D. B. Weiss remain very much in the dog-house for how that show wrapped up, they're hoping to get back in everybody's good graces with their ambitious new sci-fi series for Netflix.
Adapted from Liu Cixin's mind-bending novel of the same name, 3 Body Problem focuses on astrophysicist Ye Wenjie (Rosalind Chao), whose pivotal decision in the 1960s threatens humanity's existence in the present.
Given that Benioff and Weiss are at least working from complete source material this time, they shouldn't face the same creative stumbling blocks they did with Thrones, and from the teaser trailer released to date, it certainly looks like a uniquely trippy romp.
Further beyond the allure of Cixin's feted, award-winning source material, Weiss and Benioff have filled the cast with a number of Thrones alums, including John Bradley, Liam Cunningham, and Jonathan Pryce, who are also joined by Benedict Wong, Eiza González, and many more.
3 Body Problem premiered on March 21.
