20 Most Bizarre Moments In Doctor Who History

13. Very. Slow. Ogrons. Chasing. The. Doctor. On. A. Trike.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ap4CD5ZkW_Q 1972 was also a good year for the unintentionally bizarre in Doctor Who. The generally marvellous Day of the Daleks from that year includes one of the most giggleworthy scenes in living memory. The scene, if you haven't already guessed, is the one in which the Doctor and Jo escape from the Daleks' base on a trike. Ogrons set off in pursuit but because the trike can only drive at a slow walking speed, they are forced to lumber after the heroes really, really slowly so they don't accidentally catch up with them straightaway. "It was really rather silly," said producer Barry Letts years later. Yes, Barry. It really rather was.
