There aren't many better TV creators around than David Simon, especially when it comes to shows commenting on society and dealing with characters from all walks of life. After all, this is the man who gave us one of the best shows of 2015, with Show Me A Hero, and one of the greatest TV series of all-time with The Wire. Although there is no definitive date set for his next project with HBO, he does have a couple in the works, at least one of which should hopefully make it to our screens next year. The first is The Deuce, which is set to star James Franco and Maggie Gyllenhaal, and will focus on the New York porn industry of the 1970s and 80s. The other, which is untitled, will be an examination of partisanship and money in Washington politics, and will be co-produced by Carl Bernstein, one of the journalists to break the Watergate scandal.
NCTJ-qualified journalist. Most definitely not a racing driver. Drink too much tea; eat too much peanut butter; watch too much TV. Sadly only the latter paying off so far.
A mix of wise-old man in a young man's body with a child-like wonder about him and a great otherworldly sensibility.
