16. Superman Is Born (Smallville - Season 10, Episode 22 )
The Moment: Clark Kent (Tom Welling) finally realises his destiny, running up to the roof of the Daily Planet and tearing open his shirt, revealing the iconic Superman suit underneath. Why It Had To Be Paused: After years of the show's creators dictating a "no tights, no flights" rule, the series finale was where they would finally be able to let that go, giving fans the shot they'd been waiting for ever since the first episode: the true birth of Superman. Sure, it's a bit of a shame they didn't show Tom Welling in the complete Superman suit, but given that the show was always about the journey to Clark's superhero status, it's a suitable tease for the adventures that await him. The show may have worn pretty thin on the whole by its tenth season, but this was a fantastic way to send it off.
