13. Dead Celebrities (South Park - Season 13, Episode 8)
The Moment: After Ike finds himself being haunted by the ghosts of dead celebrities, the scene shifts to purgatory (which resembles a plane stuck on a runway),.where a number of dead celebrities reside, including Billy Mays, Ed McMahon, Farrah Fawcett, Patrick Swayze, Walter Cronkite, Dom DeLuise, Ted Kennedy, Natasha Richardson, David Carradine, DJ AM and of course, Michael Jackson. Why It Had To Be Paused: By its sheer nature, the scene provides so much visual information to take in that it begs to be paused: there are so many dead celebrities sat on the plane that have just been thrown in there for a quick visual reference that the scene was practically made for the pause button. That, and the fact that most viewers had to take a second to reel from the shock value of it all. Taste is the last thing audiences expect from South Park, but even so, it was pretty ballsy to take on so many targets at once.
Stay at home dad who spends as much time teaching his kids the merits of Martin Scorsese as possible (against the missus' wishes).
