By the time the show was approaching its final season, Jennifer Aniston was the most famous cast member, thanks to her burgeoning movie career and marriage to Hollywood royalty Brad Pitt. This being the case, we nearly didnt get a 10th season, because she wasnt sure she wanted to do it at all. Interviewed in 2004, Aniston candidly admits that she nearly passed on the final season:
I had a couple issues that I was dealing with, and I wanted it to end when people still loved us and we were on a high. And then I was also feeling like, How much more of Rachel do I have in me?
Aniston would eventually be persuaded to return: however, rumour has it that the reason for the truncated run of eighteen episodes in the final season is that her movie schedule prevented her from committing to the usual twenty-four. In other words, Jennifer Anistons lame romantic comedies prevented fans from having an extra six episodes of their favourite television show. Insert OMG face here.
