12. Getting Annoyed When People Insult The Acting Or Writing
One of the main criticisms of soaps is that the acting or the writing is poor quality. Not so, friends. In fact, it takes a high level of talent from both actors and writers to maintain the kind of emotional intensity required for the majority of scenes. Sure, there may be moments of melodrama from time to time. Thats what soaps are for, and its great. This melodrama is no reason to dismiss the entirety of the pulled together talent of writers and actors (and crew members) for whom this is their actual career. You can only judge if youve watched at least a years worth (so that you can fully appreciate at least one story arc), but it's guaranteed once you've done this youll be as addicted as the rest of us.
