However, in Twin Peaks, dancing carries a different significance; one of warning, one of despair- particularly when done by men whom just happen to be possessed by evil, demonic entities. That scene with Leland spinning around with Laura's picture... before wiping his own blood all over it... creepy, sick and ultimately tragic.

When Kyle MacLachlan stepped onto location with Michael Ontkean to film a scene at a local veterinary clinic, the producers decided to populate the mise en scené with a Llama. Then, during a take in which Cooper is explaining the theory behind criminal investigation, the Llama walks in between the two and snorts at Cooper's face. MacLachlan, ever the pro, doesn't break character and continues the scene, explaining: The shortest distance between two points is not necessarily a straight line. Clearly, the Llama didn't agree!
