20 Things You Didn't Know About Scrubs

17. Zach Braff Picked The Theme Song

Zach Braff has always had a thing for music, as can best be seen with his films Garden State and Wish I Was Here. As it turns out, Braff's music selection skills were also an effective addition to Scrubs in its early days, as the actor reportedly picked out the show's iconic theme song, "Superman."

The song was released by alternative rock band Lazlo Bane in 2000, and Braff was so impressed by it that he called up Bill Lawrence and suggested it for the opening credits.

Because of its inclusion on the show, "Superman" became a pretty big hit when Lazlo Bane released their album "All the Time in the World." After the album's release, Braff put his director's hat back on and made the official music video for the song, which was filmed on the Scrubs' set and featured a handful of the show's leading cast members behind-the-scenes.
