7. Audrey Horne (Twin Peaks)
Although she initially appears to be a typical catty high school girl, the character of Audrey Horne in Lynch's epic series Twin Peaks quickly develops into one of the most fascinating characters the show offers. The daughter of the corrupt businessman Benjamin, Audrey seems to be a typically irresponsible teenager, gossiping about Laura Palmer's murder callously. However, Audrey later lets on that she had a soft spot for Laura, who helped her handicapped brother. Audrey, played by the classically beautiful Sherilyn Fenn, oozes jailbaity sexuality with a noir-era femme fatale charm. She develops a crush on the protagonist Dale Cooper, and the two maintain a palpable sexual chemistry for the majority of the series. She even attempts to help him in his investigation of Laura's death, finding herself being nearly prostituted out to her own father. Though her character's fate at the end of the series finale is somewhat ambiguous, Fenn herself has claimed that Audrey would've made a re-appearance in Season 3 had there been one. Unfortunately, one of TV's greatest dramas ended too soon after only a meager two seasons.
