Billy Hargrove never got much of a chance to grow as a character. Throughout season 2, he was irredeemably unpleasant save for one scene opposite his clearly unspeakably abusive father, and his ascent to evil sci-fi pied piper in season 3 only cemented his villainy.

Having been used as a host by The Mind Flayer, Billy sets about kidnapping and assimilating other Hawkins residents into one gigantic, gruesome monster. He, along with the big spider made of guts, tracks the central kids to the Starcourt Mall and Russian base of operations, where a climactic battle ensues.

After a bit of mental jiggery-pokery from Eleven, Billy comes to regret his actions and turns against the Mind Flayer, sacrificing himself to save his sister and her friends in an act of decency not seen once from that mullet wearing anus.
