20 TV Episodes That Are Totally Flawless

9. Jurassic Bark - Futurama

The Sopranos
Fox

In Futurama's most heartbreakingly unforgettable episode, Jurassic Bark, series protagonist Fry comes across the fossilised remains of his dog, Seymour, who was left alone after Fry was frozen in the 20th century.

Throughout the episode, fans are treated to a present day storyline in which Fry works to bring his dog back to life, and a series of sweet and eventually devastating flashbacks shedding some light on the pair's past friendship.

Whilst Futurama was, throughout its run, a much sillier vision than Matt Groening's other show, The Simpsons, leaning more into the realm of crass, adult humour, Jurassic Bark shows it was also capable of finding the drama in its off-the-wall stories and characters.

Jurassic Bark is hilarious (Bender's jealousy is a major standout), feabrilliantly features brilliant worldbuilding, and, in its final moments, is absolutely soul destroying. You'll never listen to Connie Francis's "I Will Wait For You" the same way again.
