20 Worst Doctor Who Episodes Ever

10. Closing Time

Cybermen... in a department store!

That's a concept that feels like it could be enormous fun, if given the budget and scale to fulfill its potential. Instead, it's reduced to being a stray plot thread in a lacklustre sequel to The Lodger.

Closing Time is a perfect example of the unnecessary sequel. The Doctor checking in on Craig would maybe work as a small scene in an End of Time-style final tour, but this isn't that.

It also effectively repeats the climax of The God Complex, with the Eleventh Doctor lamenting how he always puts his friends in danger.

Closing Time should've picked a lane. As it stands it's a frustrating mish-mash of a fun Cyberman story and a sequel to a beloved episode that satisfies no-one.
