6. Riding Drogon
The arrival of Drogon, Daenerys Targaryen's favourite - and elusive - dragon just as she and her associates found themselves surrounded on all sides by vicious Sons of the Harpys might have been a little predictable (a deus ex dragona moment, you could say), but one thing that can't be taken away from it is just how darned cool he looked as he spat fire and tore her enemies to pieces. Game of Thrones is often complimented on its cinematic look and Drogon's scene in the fighting pit is one of the best examples of this. The moment when Daenerys tentatively strokes Drogon's nose then proceeds to climb onto his back is a perfect blend of exceptional visual effects with a great performance from Emilia Clarke. Drogon has been wayward for some time - seeing him finally reunited with his mother in such a dramatic fashion was a genuinely satisfying end to a taut, action-packed sequence.
