21 TV Shows With Iconic Theme Songs

14. Batman

Series Debut: 1966 "Na-na na-na, na-na na-na, na-na na-na Leader! We mean Batman!" The theme to the campy sixties Adam West Batman series has been parodied and played to no end, and is without question a classic, as is the show itself. The song was composed by Neal Hefti, who also scored The Odd Couple movie and subsequent television series, and has been covered over the years by acts such as The Who and Voivod. And, of course, it was parodied by The Simpsons - who have also had Batman himself, Adam West, appear as well. A popular myth has been told through the years that the sole lyric, "Batman!" is actually a group of horns, a myth that was given legs by Adam West's book Back to the Batcave, which stated that the theme is purely instrumental. However, Hefti stated that wasn't the case, and that the theme was sung by four tenors and four sopranos. Maybe The Riddler or the Joker were behind that one (hey, cheesy puns fit right in with the show, right?). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VSaDPc1Cs5U
