21 TV Shows With Iconic Theme Songs

13. The Flintstones

Series Debut: 1960 Without The Flintstones, there's no Simpsons, Family Guy, or just about any other prime time animated sitcom on television. Another theme to be spoofed over the years (including by The Simpsons), The Flintstones theme "Meet the Flintstones" actually wasn't part of the show for its first two years. The memorable tune was added in the third season, and recorded with a 22-piece jazz band as well as the vocal group The Skip Jacks. In 2010, a PRS for Music survey of 2,000 adults in the UK found that the "Meet the Flintstones" was the most well-recognized children's television theme. A cover version of the song was released as a single by the fictional band The B.C. 52's (in actuality the B-52's) in 1994 to tie in with The Flintstones movie. The cover had an extra verse, and reached #33 on the Billboard Hot 100. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uq7noaMwLfg
