22 Doctor Who Easter Eggs You Might Have Missed

20. Familiar Hallways €“ A Good Man Goes To War

This one€™s not an Easter Egg in the strictest sense but it€™s still an interesting thing to keep an eye out for. In A Good Man Goes To War, take a close look at the hallways on Demons Run. They look familiar, don€™t they. Well there€™s a reason for that. In the grand Doctor Who tradition of stretching out a meagre budget, the hallways on Demons Run are the Tardis corridor set from The Doctor€™s Wife pressed into service for the mid-series finale. Where, as with The Doctor€™s Wife, they are used multiple times for different corridors. The penny pinching spirit of Classic Who lives on.

19. The Accidental Prequel €“ The Curse Of The Black Spot

Can an Easter Egg still be an Easter Egg if it€™s accidental? We€™re going to go out on a limb and say yes. Series 6€™s The Curse Of The Black Spot was Doctor Who€™s first pirate-themed story since the First Doctor story The Smugglers. And by sheer coincidence, it ended up being a prequel to The Smugglers. The Smugglers takes place in 17th century Cornwall and features the Doctor becoming involved in the search for pirate Henry Avery€™s lost treasure. When the time came to write The Curse Of The Black Spot, Steve Thompson decided to include Henry Avery as a character because he was a historical figure who fitted the themes of the episode; being entirely unaware that he was setting the scenes for a story written and produced forty-six years before.
