24: 15 Stupidest Things We Just Had To Go With

9. Curtis Manning€™s Death

Jack had many partners over the years, but none had so pointless a death as Curtis Manning. In season 6, Curtis was once again serving at Jack€™s side, but he was also forced to work with Hamri Al-Assad, the man who was responsible for killing Curtis€™ men during Desert Storm. When Curtis learned that President Wayne Palmer had granted Assad a pardon in exchange for his help in stopping the terrorists, Curtis felt Assad didn€™t deserve to get away with what he€™d done. Attempting to kill Assad, Curtis was gunned down by Jack, who had promised Palmer that he would protect Assad. It was heart-wrenching to watch Jack kill another ally, and you€™d think that it would have affected Jack for the rest of the season...but it didn€™t. Minutes later, the nuclear bomb went off, prompting Jack back into action. Aside from a couple small remarks, Curtis wasn€™t mentioned again, and his death amounted to nothing. You want to kill a character on the show, fine, but Curtis deserved a better death than that, and more importantly he didn€™t deserve to be forgotten afterwards.
