The combined act of Jack Bauer and Charles Logan makes another appearance on the list after an incredible scene from the fifth season. Day 5 is arguably one of the best the 24 team has produced. It features some of the best action, storylines and twists the show has ever seen, including the shock revelation that the mastermind behind all the terrible events that day was President Charles Logan. In the closing hour of the season, Jack abducts Logan and takes him to a secluded area in the hopes of forcing a confession out of him. It is an intense scene, performed spectacularly by Kiefer Sutherland and Gregory Itzin, as Jack screams at Logan to confess, reciting his crimes and why hes unfit for office. Viewers are on the edge of their seats, and it comes as a huge disappointment when Logan manages to hold out long enough for the military to find them and take Jack into custody. Just when viewers thought Jack had actually lost, the back up plan kicks in and Jack plants a device on Logan which records a later conversation that implicates him in David Palmers murder. It wasnt necessarily Jacks brute force and sheer will that makes him a badass here, its his intelligence. He outplays a man who is by far one of the most conniving and deceptive villains hes ever clashed with. For once, Jack Bauer relies on brain over brawn, and he is triumphant. Its a shame he couldnt join us in enjoying Charles Logans look of defeat as the President is taken into custody and driven away. Seriously, who else has the balls to go after the President of the United States and win?
