24: Legacy Season 1 Review - 4 Ups & 6 Downs

5. That Atrocious High School Terrorist Subplot

24 Legacy Amira David

In fairness, even classic 24 is no stranger to its share of wonky subplots (Kim and the cougar, anyone?), but Legacy came right out of the gate with one of the series' all-time worst narratives, as high school student Amira (Kathryn Prescott) and her loved-up teacher David (Kevin Christy) planned to launch a terrorist attack in the early episodes.

It was an hilariously bad aside that never proved remotely plausible (even for the standards of 24), and by the time it ended in a bloodbath for basically everyone involved, it felt like a considerable mercy that this eye-rolling plot had been put to bed.

Only when Amira finally detonated her bomb on the George Washington Bridge did it get remotely interesting, but of course, 24 has done similar things many times before, so the impact was distinctly lessened.
