24 Most Memorable Deaths From 24

14. Michelle Dessler

Played By - Reiko Aylesworth, Episode Day 5: 7.00am-8.00am The successful assassination of President David Palmer at the beginning of 24's fifth season was only part a larger conspiracy, luring Jack Bauer out of hiding in tandem with the attempted murders of Tony Almeida and Chloe O'Brian, as well as the successful killing of Michelle Dessler. The four being the only individuals aware that he was still alive following the faking of his death at the end of season four. Having initially appeared as an operative in season two, Dessler ascended through the ranks of CTU in both that season and season three, developing a relationship with Tony in the process that breaks off prior to season four, when she is brought in to run CTU's Los Angeles branch. There however, the two reconnect during a time of crisis, quitting to start a new life together before season five begins. This is short-lived as Michelle prepares to go to CTU and offer her assistance following Palmer's assassination, opening her car and triggering a bomb that burns more than 93% of her body. Her passing is made all the more tragic not only by Tony cradling her lifeless corpse (shortly before another bomb goes off and injures him), but by the revelation in season seven that she was pregnant at the time of her death.

13. Larry Moss

Played By - Jeffrey Nordling, Episode - Day 7: 1.00am-2.00am Many characters turned to the 'dark side' during 24's eight season run, but few character transformations were as shocking as the one undergone by Tony Almeida, who was an ever-present (though sometimes uneasy) ally of Jack Bauer throughout seasons one to five, though he was seemingly killed in the latter shortly after the murder of Michelle Dessler. He returns unscathed in season seven, however, working with Chloe O'Brian and former CTU director Bill Buchanan after the organisation has been shut down pending a federal investigation, spending three years supposedly undercover in a mercenary group. It eventually transpires that this cover was part of a revenge agenda concocted by Tony, however, as he seeks access to a man named Alan Wilson, who is ultimately responsible for the conspiracy that led to Michelle's death. To achieve his goals, however, he is willing to make any sacrifice, regardless of the collateral damage, including the use of Jack as a walking bomb. The audience first bears witness to his newfound insanity when he turns on FBI Special Agent Larry Moss, who fights alongside Tony in pursuit of a biological pathogen, taking two shots to the chest in the process. Grieviously wounded, he attempts to pass his sidearm to his supposed ally for his own protection, only to be shockingly suffocated as it transpires that Tony wishes to use the pathogen for his own means and is league with the man they have been chasing.
