14. Jack Drops The Show's Single "F-Bomb" In The Season 4 Prequel
Because 24 is aired on FOX, the show is forced to steer away from profanity even though it would seem totally appropriate given the insane situations Jack Bauer has found himself in over the years. As such, the single bout of "real" profanity takes place during the 6-minute "prequel" released on the season three DVD ahead of the show's fourth season. In one scene, Erin Driscoll (the late, great Alberta Watson) talks to Jack about helping him find some work, and as Jack leaves, he quips, "I can find my own f***ing job, Erin". It's a pretty shocking moment for 24 fans, given how out of place the profanity seems, but that's simply because fans are conditioned not to see any graphic nudity, gory violence or hear actual swear words on the show. It's undeniably effective, though.
