24 Mind-Blowing Facts About 24

18. One 42-Minute Episode Is Edited Down From 25 Hours Of Footage

It goes without saying that any movie or TV show shoots a much greater deal of footage than it is ever going to use, but that's especially true for something as multi-faceted and fast-paced as 24. With the box-splitting gimmick allowing for multiple visual perspectives at once, it means that a ton more footage has to be shot than for a typical show, and for an average 42-minute episode (or, after credits and the "Previously On..." montage, about 39), an insane 25 hours of footage is shot. If it wasn't apparent already, the guys editing this show are true masters of their craft.
