The devoted, lovable Bobby "Elvis" Munson had long been Jax's conscience, even when the latter could not or would not bear to listen. A respected member of the club by its members and viewers alike, Bobby's "always there" presence, forward-thinking attitude and capacity to put logic over emotion made him a crucial cog in the Sons of Anarchy machine even when he didn't have a whole lot going on. Despite being kidnapped, tortured and mutilated by Moses Cartwright under the order of August Marks, Bobby stayed loyal to the club, his unwavering fearlessness enough to give viewers the smallest glimmer of hope that the beloved character would somehow make it out the other end of a situation we all knew wasn't going to end well alive. Seeing the group's reaction when Bobby was brought out before them bound, gagged and missing fingers and an eye pales in comparison to the stunned shock left behind after Marks pulled a hidden gun on Jax only to mercilessly execute Bobby in front of him. Though Marks and Moses would eventually get their just rewards, Bobby's death weighed heavily on the show. Being more than just another needless casualty from the lies that had spun out of control, his demise meant saying good-bye to a friend Jax and the audience had come to rely on.
