25 Best Superhero TV Shows Of All Time
8. Marvel's Agent Carter
During a time when the Marvel Cinematic Universe was seemingly reluctant to give their female heroes the solo films they deserved, they did let their most compelling female character shine on TV.
Peggy Carter had already proven in Captain America: The First Avenger that she was more than just a love interest, but Marvel's Agent Carter set out to amplify that by highlighting how efficient, resourceful and game-changing Steve Rogers' old flame could be when the spotlight was firmly placed on her.
A beautifully crafted period-set spy-thriller that benefited a great deal from its stunning aesthetic, Marvel's Agent Carter filled in some of the blanks in the MCU, showcasing why Peggy Carter is held in such high regard generations after her S.H.I.E.L.D. days. Moreover, it set itself apart from every other superhero show on television with its surprisingly realistic approach to some of the more outlandish MCU concepts, and it delivered some genuinely moving theater-like performances from Hayley Atwell and James Darcy.
Peggy knew her value and so did we, it's just a shame that ABC didn't have a little more faith.
