25 Greatest Sci-Fi TV Shows Of All Time

23. Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles

The X Files
Fox

So many studios, directors and producers have attempted to follow in James Cameron's footsteps by successfully continuing the Terminator franchise, and although we've had the likes of Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, Terminator Salvation, Terminator Genisys and Terminator: Dark Fate, it was the franchise's sole TV offering that provided it with its most unique entry.

Like the others, it was set after the events of T2: Judgment Day and (also like the others) that's where things began to change - except this time, there weren't all that many nostalgic reminders of the past. Instead, Sarah Connor (now played by Lena Headey) and and her son John travelled to the future in a bid to outrun new Terminator Cromartie while allowing Sarah to stay ahead of her apparent pre-2007 demise by attending health checkups.

Its most unique invention, however, came in the form of Cameron - a more advanced Terminator tasked with protecting John from harm, and one that could adopt a lot more human attributes than any of her predecessors - including eating.

It's a damn shame that Fox didn't have a little more faith in the show, cancelling it after its second season (its only full-length one) - especially when its 'declining ratings' are considered pretty solid by today's standards.
