25. The Doctor Meeting His Perfect New Companion Who Then Kills Herself In A Forklift Truck
Doctor Who reached new levels of cinematic scale in its 2007 Christmas Special, Voyage of the Damned, and not only because it managed to enlist the acting services of everybody's favourite Australian pop princess Kylie Minogue. She should be so lucky! And it was all going rather well for the sweet waitress from Sto, too, until she commandeered that strategically placed forklift truck and used it to drive herself into the fiery chasms of a spaceship's burning engine. A noble sacrifice indeed but surely there was another way to overthrow Max Capricorn!? Couldn't Astrid have jumped out of the truck to safety at the last minute? It would've been scary but any sane person would take a scrape on the knee over their untimely demise any day of the week. The Doctor would've been there to catch her, too. Oh, Astrid. We hardly knew ye.
