27 Hottest New TV Shows Coming In 2015

2. Wayward Pines

Showing: May 14th Gone are the days when detective shows were merely procedurals with weekly crimes, a dependant, morally unambiguous cast of good-doers and a very strict sense of what makes good and what makes evil. Now it's all about shades of grey, complex stories of intrigue and impenetrably interesting, fractured central characters with open emotional wounds and a habit of getting up to their necks in unpleasantness. Into that context comes the latest event from M Night Shyamalan, as the twisty director has turned his hand to TV - as an executive producer - rather than waiting for his next movie to be trashed before it comes out. The show - which follows Matt Dillon's Secret Service agent looking into the disappearance of two federal agents in a mysterious small Idaho town - is based on a novel by Blake Crouch, and promises typically disarming narrative weaving. Let's just hope it's Shyamalan at his story-telling best. The Selling Point: Even if it's terrible, it's M Night Shyamalan, and there's still massive intrigue into his film-making. if only for perverse reasons. The Concerns: It's M Night Shyamalan.
