10. The Frankenstein Chronicles (2015)
Mary Shelley's 1818 horror novel "Frankenstein" has given birth to countless adaptations - and now ITV are offering a new one, with Sean Bean as the main protagonist. In this six-part period crime drama, Bean plays Inspector John Marlott - who goes on a chilling journey in order to find his evil foe. Set in Regency London in 1827, Marlott discovers the body of a dead child washed up on the shore - only to then realise it is actually a crude assembly of body parts rearranged in human form. This leads Marlott to begin an adventure of discovery to find out who would do such a thing. The Selling Point: Sean Bean is instantly watchable - and, in a role as an inspector looking for a man piecing together body parts, it sounds like an exciting combination. The Concerns: The tale of Frankenstein has been done to the death, but hopefully this latest variation is different enough to make it worth watching.
