3 Reasons For And Against John Oliver Getting A Daily Show Spin-Off

1. For: Deserves It

oliver_600_06-09-13 Oliver has paid his dues. He has been a correspondent, and could potentially be called the chief correspondent at this point, on The Daily Show for over 7 years. He has had stand-up specials, which have been funny and impressive. He has been given his own show, which, honestly, doesn€™t include enough John Oliver to be watchable. At this point in his career, especially after the past few months of headlining Comedy Central€™s late night political satire, he deserves a promotion. He has clearly earned it, and he has proven that he is ready to step up to the big leagues, so to speak. So, my final reason in favor of Oliver getting his own political talk show is that he has earned the right to try to pull a Colbert.
