3 Ups & 2 Downs From Doctor Who Series 12 - Fugitive Of The Judoon

Ups...

3. The Episode Concept And Execution Was Fantastic

Fugitive Of The Judoon
BBC

The concept of the Judoon bulldozing their way into Earth matters once again is exciting indeed. Apart from their brief appearance at the Shadow Proclamation in Series 4's The Stolen Earth, we haven't see the Judoon in a significant role since Smith and Jones in 2007. Aliens hiding in plain sight isn't anything new in science-fiction, but seeing somewhere that isn't London or Cardiff being invaded by boisterous space rhinoceroses in search for a hidden alien was brilliant.

Add to that the bait and switch between Lee and Ruth, leading to the reveal that Ruth is in fact a Doctor, this episode kept you on the edge of your seat throughout. Though, as I've already mentioned, the ramifications for these reveals could lead to major canonical problems, but as a standalone episode, it was quite the spectacle.
