On paper a little boy in a gasmask asking for his mummy doesn't seem so creepy but on screen it creates one of the unlikeliest of Doctor Who monsters. In many ways, the empty child is a perfect Doctor Who creation - taking the innocuous and the familiar and making it absolutely terrifying. Aside from the scares, it's also a very funny episode with Christopher Eccleston at his most charming and the arrival of serial flirter Captain Jack.
