30 Greatest TV Sitcoms Of All Time
21. South Park
South Park's most recent season, which concluded in late 2019, was its twenty-third entry to the series. The adult animation's influence on popular culture is nearly unrivalled, beginning its run in 1997 and spawning over 300 episodes and a feature film which was nominated for an Academy Award.
Following the ridiculous, improbable and wholly hysterical escapades of four school kids - Stan, Kenny, Cartman and Kyle - South Park is one of the very best shows of its generation.
But more than that, though, it is a fresh and daring take of the sitcom genre, bending the typical tropes with the infusion of different genres and dark, surreal humour. When it comes to this show's legacy in the wider world, you need look no further than the popular catchphrases it has spawned, most notably the recurring "Oh my god, they killed Kenny!" and "Respect my authori-tah!"
A cultural landmark, South Park is still going strong, and only promises to get better and better.
