Any follow up to Breaking Bad involving any of the creative team or cast is bound to be big news (more of which very soon), so it should be no surprise that show creator Vince Gilligan's upcoming police drama, which comes ten years after his first script for it emerged. The show, which will inevitably attract comparisons to True Detective follows two detectives in Battle Creek, Michigan with disparate styles: one trusting and naive and the other cynical and deceptive. As a mark of the confidence in the creator and in the show, CBS have atypically guaranteed to air all 13 episodes. There's no official play date for it yet, but it is set to arrive with a lot of hype when that is finally announced, especially since Bryan Singer is directing the pilot. The Selling Point: Vince Gilligan, all day long: he's the hottest property in TV right now for a reason. The Concerns: Could guaranteeing all episodes to air foster complacency? Probably not.
