The history of TV shows is littered with examples of good shows turning sour and being cancelled leaving the faint but unavoidably bitter taste of a missed opportunity, and the tale of Heroes sits at the top of the bunch. The show, which boasted an incredibly engaging premise and initially pulled in great ratings and critical acclaim, was ultimately ruined by the timing of the writers' strike, but thankfully it seems that NBC have come to their senses and realised that they have unfinished business. We've already heard that old characters might well return, even though it seems that they're going for a reboot, with creator Tim Kring returning to "reconnect with the basic elements of the shows first season where ordinary people were waking up to the fact that they had extraordinary abilities." And hopefully this time we won't see the ball so spectacularly dropped. The Selling Point: The first season of Heroes. The Concerns: The other three seasons of Heroes.
